INTRODUCTIONEXELON 4.6MG contains Rivastigmine which belongs to a group of medicines called cholinesterase inhibitors. This medicine is used to manage mild to moderately severe Alzheimer’s dementia and dementia due to Parkinson’s disease. Dementia is a progressive brain disorder where it affects memory, intellectual ability and behaviour gradually. Alzheimer’s dementia or dementia due to Parkinson’s disease cause death of certain nerve cells resulting in low levels of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, a substance which allows nerve cells to communicate with each other. Use this medicine exactly as instructed by your doctor. The dose you use will depend on your age, other medications you are taking and whether you have any kidney or liver problems. How It Works
EXELON 4.6MG works by blocking the enzymes that break down acetylcholine. By blocking the enzymes, it increases the levels of acetylcholine in the brain that help in reducing the symptoms of dementia associated with Alzheimer disease and Parkinson’s disease.
Directions for Use
Always use exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take off the previous patch before putting a new patch on. Do not cut into pieces. Press the patch firmly in place for at least 30 seconds using the palm of the hand.
