Introduction

ESILOC 40 TABLET contains Esomeprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors. It is used for the management of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) heartburn in adults and in adolescents above 12 years of age. ESILOC 40 TABLET also helps in managing stomach ulcers or upper part of the gut (intestine) that are infected with Helicobacter pylori bacteria and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) medicines in adults and in adolescents above 12 years of age. It is also used to manage Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (too much acid produced in the stomach caused by a growth in the pancreas). How It Works

ESILOC 40 TABLET is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of enzymes in the stomach cell. It hence reduces gastric acidity by blocking the final step in acid production and helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.

Directions for Use

Take ESILOC 40 TABLET as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow ESILOC 40 TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Side Effects

DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience dizziness and blurred vision after taking ESILOC 40 TABLET. Consult your doctor before taking ESILOC 40 TABLET. ALCOHOLAvoid or limit the consumption of alcohol while taking ESILOC 40 TABLET because it might increase the amount of acid in your stomach than normal which can irritate your stomach lining and worsen your symptoms. KIDNEYESILOC 40 TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking ESILOC 40 TABLET. LIVER[GBNKWEYWORD] should be used with caution in patients with severe liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking ESILOC 40 TABLET. ALLERGYDo not take ESILOC 40 TABLET if you are allergic to Esomeprazole or to any other proton pump inhibitor medicines. OTHERSBefore taking ESILOC 40 TABLET, inform your doctor if you: have ever had a skin reaction after taking medicine to manage acidity are going to have a specific blood test (Chromogranin A) are losing a lot of weight without reason have problems swallowing have stomach pain or indigestion pass black stools (blood-stained faeces) skin rashes especially after getting exposed in sun have joint pains Use in pediatrics: ESILOC 40 TABLET is not recommended to be taken in children and adolescents below 12 years of age.
