Introduction

INTRODUCTIONDALSTEP 10MG contains Dalfampridine which belongs to a group of medicines called Potassium channel blockers. DALSTEP 10MG is used to help improve walking in adults with multiple sclerosis related walking disability. Multiple sclerosis is a type of long-lasting disease that affects your brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves in your eyes which results in problems with vision, balance, muscle control, and other basic body functions. It is generally characterized by symptoms such as weakness, loss of balance, muscle spasms, loss of vision, and numbness in your legs or arms. Dalfampridine is a potassium channel blocker which works by blocking tiny pores or potassium channels on the surface of the nerve fibers (a part of nerve cells that carries nerve impulses away from the cell body) which results in the improvement of the conduction of nerve signals along nerve fibers whose insulating myelin coat (sheath that forms around nerves including those of brain and spinal cord) had been damaged by multiple sclerosis thus resulting in the improvement of the motor function in patients with multiple sclerosis. Along with this management, your doctor might advise you to do a regular blood test to check the functioning of your kidneys. Avoid taking DALSTEP 10MG if you have or ever had a seizure. Before taking DALSTEP 10MG, inform your doctor if you are allergic to Dalfampridine, have heart, kidney, or liver disease or any other medical condition. It is not recommended for use in patients with moderate or severe of kidney disease. DALSTEP 10MG is also not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years). The most common
