INTRODUCTIONCYP L is a combination of Cyproheptadine and Tricholine Citrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines and Bile acid-binding agents respectively. How It Works

CYP L contains cyproheptadine and tricholine citrate, where cyproheptadine works by reducing the effect of serotonin (a chemical messenger) in the hypothalamus which helps in regulating appetite thereby preventing weight loss and tricholine citrate is a bile acid-binding agent that works by removing the bile acids from the body and liver uses cholesterol to produce more bile acids resulting in decreased cholesterol level in the body.

Directions for Use

Take CYP L as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your physician will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Side Effects

taking CYP L are drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, blurred vision, loss of coordination, skin rash, gastrointestinal upset, nausea, or vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of the symptom worsens. ALLERGYDo not take CYP L if you are allergic to cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. OTHERSCYP L is not recommended for use if you have: or had angle-closure glaucoma (eye disorder) stenosing peptic ulcer symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy (enlarged prostate gland) bladder neck obstruction signs of pyloroduodenal obstruction (gastric outlet obstruction) such as vomiting Before taking CYP L, inform your doctor if you have: increased intraocular pressure (fluid pressure inside the eye) signs of hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) such as unintentional weight loss, rapid or irregular heartbeat high blood pressure Use in pediatrics: CYP L is recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age). Consult child’s doctor for advice before administration of CYP L to your child. Use in geriatrics: CYP L is generally not recommended for use in elderly patients unless it is indicated necessary for use. Consult your doctor before taking CYP L.

Drug Interactions

SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before taking CYP L, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicines: monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) such as phenelzine, selegiline (used to manage depression) hypnotics (Ex. quazepam), sedatives (Ex. barbiturates such as phenobarbital) and tranquilizers (Ex. diazepam) (used to manage insomnia) antianxiety agents (Ex. alprazolam and chlordiazepoxide) (used to manage anxiety) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of CYP L, consult your physician immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage are hallucinations, depression and fits.
