CTD T AM 12.5/80/5MG TABLET is a combination of Chlorthalidone, Amlodipine and Telmisartan which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensives. CTD T AM 12.5/80/5MG TABLET is used to manage essential hypertension in adults. Essential hypertension (primary hypertension) occurs when you have abnormally high blood pressure that's not the result of a medical condition. It is characterized by symptoms such as blurred vision, severe headache, chest pain, dizziness, light-headedness and nose bleeds. CTD T AM 12.5/80/5MG TABLET helps to reduce high blood pressure, where amlodipine works by relaxing the blood vessels and improving the flow of blood to the heart muscles and chlorthalidone works by promoting the excretion of excess fluid and certain electrolytes (such as sodium and chloride) from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced by the kidneys. Telmisartan works by relaxing the blood vessels by managing the binding of certain substance called angiotensin-II (substance produced in the body which causes narrowing of blood vessels). All these actions together effectively control high blood pressure.
