INTRODUCTION ABOUT COLIGYL DRY SYRUPCOLIGYL DRY SYRUP contains colistin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used in infants and in children to manage bacterial infections of the gut (stomach and intestines). Colistin is a polypeptide antibiotic. It binds to the susceptible bacteria and disrupts the composition (lipids and proteins) of the bacterial cell membrane. As a result, it makes the contents of the bacterial cell leak out, which subsequently leads to bacterial killing. It may also inactivate the toxins produced by the bacteria. COLIGYL DRY SYRUP kills the susceptible bacteria that causes infection. It acts by disrupting the composition (lipids and proteins) of the bacterial cell membrane and enters the bacterial cell. This causes the contents of the bacterial cell to leak out, which subsequently leads to bacterial killing. It may also inactivate the effects of toxins produced by the harmful bacteria.
Directions for Use
Use COLIGYL DRY SYRUP as advised by your physician. Reconstitute the medicine with the sterile water given along with the package or with boiled, cooled water before administration. Close the bottle tightly and shake the mixture vigorously for at least 10-15 minutes until it forms a uniform mixture.
