How It Works
CLOTAN CAPSULE helps in relieving the pain by acting on the pain pathway (COX-1 and COX-2) and inhibiting it. This inhibition stops the release and action of prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation thus, exerting its anti-inflammatory and pain blocking actions.
Directions for Use
Take CLOTAN CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and general health condition.
Side Effects

SIDE EFFECTS OF CLOTAN CAPSULECOMMON nausea, vomiting diarrhoea, flatulence, constipation abdominal pain ulcerative stomatitis exacerbation of colitis and crohn's disease UNCOMMON gastritis painful or difficult urination jaundice visual disturbances, optic neuritis headache tingling or pricking sensation in arms, hands, legs or feet RAREStop taking CLOTAN CAPSULE and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects: blood in stools or passing black tarry stools blood in vomiting or dark particles that look like coffee grounds indigestion or heartburn abnormal stomach symptoms or stomach pain signs of peptic ulcer (belching, discomfort in the stomach and vomiting) gastrointestinal bleeding signs of allergic shock reaction (shortness of breath, rash or wheezing, asthma) swelling of the face, tongue, lips, or throat serious skin reactions with blister rash, inflammation of the skin or peeling of the top layer of skin (Ex. stevens johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis) flu-like symptoms, cold, high fever, sore throat, fatigue, dizziness, spontaneous bleedings (due to low blood cells) signs of meningitis (stiff neck, headache, fever, nausea, vomiting or disorientation) reddish or purplish spots on the skin hallucinations signs of jaundice or inflammation of the liver (yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes) signs of inflammation of the kidney and kidney failure (urination disturbances) inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis) high blood pressure (hypertension) signs of cardiac failure (shortness of breath while doing any activity or lying down, fatigue, weakness, swelling in the legs, ankles and feet, rapid or irregular heartbeat)

& PRECAUTIONSPREGNANCYCLOTAN CAPSULE should not be given in the first two trimesters of pregnancy unless recommended by the doctor. It is not recommended for use in pregnant women in the third trimester (last 3 months) as it may affect the baby’s kidney function and circulation, clotting of the blood in both the mother and baby, and labour. CLOTAN CAPSULE can make it more difficult to become pregnant, so consult your doctor before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE if you are planning to become pregnant. BREASTFEEDINGCLOTAN CAPSULE is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass in breast milk in small amounts. Consult your doctor before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or use machines if you experience dizziness, drowsiness, exhaustion and visual disturbances after taking CLOTAN CAPSULE. KIDNEYCLOTAN CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney failure. It should be used with caution in patients having decreased kidney function. Consult your doctor before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE. LIVERCLOTAN CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver failure. It should be used with caution in patients having decreased liver function. Consult your doctor before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE. ALLERGYDo not take CLOTAN CAPSULE if you are allergic to Tolfenamic Acid or any other ingredients of this medicine. LUNGSCLOTAN CAPSULE should be taken with caution in patients with lung diseases such as asthma. Consult your doctor before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE. HEART DISEASECLOTAN CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart failure. It should be used with caution in patients having decreased heart function and other cardiovascular diseases. Consult your doctor before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE. OTHERSCLOTAN CAPSULE is not recommended for use if you have: history of recurrent bleeding or ulcer in the stomach or intestine bleeding or perforation in digestive tract due to NSAIDs (type of painkillers) Before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE inform your doctor if you have: high blood pressure gastrointestinal disease (such as crohn’s disease or inflammation of the colon and rectum) systemic lupus erythematosus peripheral arterial disease or cerebrovascular disease diabetes, raised cholesterol or triglycerides habit of smoking peptic ulcer, intestinal bleeding or perforation Use in paediatrics: CLOTAN CAPSULE is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). Consult your child’s doctor for advice. Use in geriatrics: CLOTAN CAPSULE should be used with caution in elderly patients due to increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation. Your doctor may initiate the management with the lowest effective dose. Consult your doctor before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE.
Drug Interactions
SA. Drug–Drug Interactions: Before taking CLOTAN CAPSULE inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin (used to manage pain, inflammation and fever) cardiac glycosides such as digoxin, digitoxin (used to manage heart diseases), ramipril, azilsartan (used to manage high blood pressure) corticosteroids such as prednisolone, dexamethasone (used to manage various inflammatory conditions) quinolones such as moxifloxacin, ciprofloxacin (used to manage certain bacterial infection) tacrolimus, ciclosporin (used to suppress the immune system) diuretic medicines such as spironolactone, furosemide (used to remove excess fluid from the body) selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as citalopram, sertraline (used to manage anxiety and depression), lithium (used to manage certain mental conditions) mifepristone (used to terminate pregnancy) methotrexate (used to manage diseases such as cancer, psoriasis, rheumatism) warfarin (used as blood thinners) zidovudine (used in managing HIV infection) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of CLOTAN CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. The symptoms of overdosage of CLOTAN CAPSULE are headache, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, diarrhoea, gastrointestinal bleeding, disorientation, excitation, drowsiness, dizziness, coma, tinnitus, fainting, occasionally convulsions. If there is a case of significant overdose, acute renal failure and liver damage are possible.
