Introduction

INTRODUCTIONCLICK GEL contains Clindamycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Topical antibiotics. It is used for the topical management of acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition that occurs in teens when hair follicles of the skin plug with oil and dead skin cells. Symptoms includes inflammation, large, reddish pus-filled pimples and formation of comedones. Clindamycin deeply penetrates into the skin and kills the pimple-causing bacteria by inhibiting the bacterial protein synthesis. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area as required. Topical application of clindamycin may also result in systemic absorption of the antibiotic from the skin surface and can cause diarrhea, bloody diarrhea or colitis (including pseudomembranous colitis) in patients. In such cases, contact your doctor immediately. The most common

How It Works

Topically applied clindamycin penetrates deep into the skin and kills the acne-producing bacteria by inhibiting the bacterial protein synthesis. It acts by reversibly binding to the 50S ribosomal subunits of the bacteria, which prevents peptide bond formation thus inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Inhibition of protein synthesis stops the growth of acne-producing bacteria leading to prevention of acne outbreaks.
