CIDMUS 50MG TABLET is indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure in patients with chronic heart failure (New York Heart Association Class II-IV) and reduced ejection fraction. Heart failure occurs when the heart is weak and cannot pump enough blood to the lungs and to the rest of the body and it is characterized by symptoms such as breathlessness, fatigue, tiredness and ankle swelling. Before taking CIDMUS 50MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems. CIDMUS 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions and answers about Cidmus 50mg Tablet 14'S.

Q

What is cidmus used for?

A

Cidmus is a brand name for a combination of Sacubitril and Valsartan, which is primarily used to manage heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). It helps to improve the heart's pumping ability, reduce symptoms like breathlessness and swelling and lower the risk of hospitalization and cardiovascular-related mortality.

Q

When is the best time to take cidmus?

A

The best time to take Cidmus is as prescribed by your doctor. Generally, it is taken twice daily with or without food. It is important to maintain consistency in the timing, such as morning and evening, to ensure stable medicine levels in the body. Avoid taking it with potassium supplements or high-sodium meals.

Q

Is cidmus a beta blocker?

A

No. Cidmus is not a beta-blocker. It is a combination of Sacubitril (a neprilysin inhibitor) helps to relax blood vessels and improve blood flow. Valsartan (an angiotensin receptor blocker or ARB) reduces blood pressure and decreases the workload on the heart. Beta-blockers, like metoprolol or bisoprolol, work differently by slowing the heart rate and reducing the heart’s oxygen demand.

Q

What is the duration of action of cidmus?

A

The effects of Cidmus typically last for about 24 hours after a dose, although it is usually taken twice daily to maintain optimal therapeutic levels.

Q

Does sacubitril affect BP?

A

Yes, Sacubitril affects BP. By inhibiting neprilysin, Sacubitril increases the levels of natriuretic peptides, leading to relaxation of blood vessels, improved sodium and water excretion and reduction in blood pressure.

Q

Are Azmarda and Cidmus the same?

A

Yes, Azmarda and Cidmus contain the same active ingredients, Sacubitril/Valsartan, and are used for the same purpose managing heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The difference lies in their brand names and manufacturers.

Q

Is Cidmus used in heart failure?

A

Yes. Cidmus is widely used in the management of heart failure, particularly heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). It is recommended for patients who have a persistently reduced ejection fraction despite standard treatment. Need a more advanced therapy to improve heart function and quality of life.
