It is used in the management of infections of the brain (meningitis), lungs, middle ear, abdomen, and abdominal wall (peritonitis), urinary tract and kidneys, bones and joints, skin or soft tissues, blood, and heart. CEFTAVAG S 1.5GM INJECTION can also be used to manage specific sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhoea and syphilis), patients with low white blood cell counts (neutropenia) who have fever due to bacterial infection, Lyme disease (caused by tick bites), and infections during surgery. CEFTAVAG S 1.5GM INJECTION is not recommended for use in premature babies and new-born babies having jaundice.
