Introduction

BOTROSTAT TABLET contains Etamsylate, which belongs to the group of medicines called antihemorrhagic drugs. It helps to manage bleeding. It reduces bleeding time and blood loss. BOTROSTAT TABLET is used before, during and after a delicate surgical procedure involving the urinary system, eyes, nose, throat etc, to manage bleeding. It also helps to reduce bleeding in or from the nose (epistaxis), gums (gingivitis), urine (haematuria), stools (melena), etc. BOTROSTAT TABLET is also recommended for use by females to manage spotting (bleeding between menstrual periods) and excessive or prolonged bleeding during menstruation (with or without an intrauterine device present). Before starting with BOTROSTAT TABLET, your doctor may advise you to take tests to verify the cause of the bleeding. If you are a woman/girl suffering from excessive menstrual bleeding, your doctor will do a thorough gynaecological check-up before therapy. BOTROSTAT TABLET is not recommended to take if you are suffering from porphyria (a blood disorder where the synthesis of haemoglobin is not proper). BOTROSTAT TABLET must be taken with caution if you are suffering from any kidney, liver or heart diseases. BOTROSTAT TABLET contains Etamsylate, which is an antihemorrhagic medicine that helps to stop bleeding. It works by increasing blood cells (platelets) ability to stick together and aids in the formation of blood clots during the first stage of haemostasis (the body's normal response to an injury that stops bleeding). Additionally, it decreases blood loss at the site by increasing blood capillary resistance.

Take BOTROSTAT TABLET exactly as advised by your doctor. Generally, it is advised to swallow the medicine with a glass of water Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and severity of the infection.
