Introduction

BILYPSA 4MG TABLET contains Saroglitazar which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. It is indicated for the management of diabetic dyslipidaemia and hypertriglyceridemia (high levels of triglycerides) with Type 2 diabetes mellitus which is not controlled by statin therapy. Diabetic Dyslipidaemia refers to a condition in which there are elevated triglycerides and LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, and major presence of small LDL particles. Your doctor may ask you to undergo certain diagnostic tests before starting the management with this medicine. Along with BILYPSA 4MG TABLET, your doctor might ask you to make certain lifestyle changes such as eating healthy, adequate sleep, weight and stress management, quitting smoking and alcohol. BILYPSA 4MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having liver, kidney or heart disease (with episodic congestive heart failure) and history of muscle diseases. It acts on certain receptors and helps in lowering high blood triglycerides as well as the glucose levels in the blood and improves insulin resistance. It acts on the liver and increases the degradation of lipids (fats) and decreases their formation as well hence, resulting in reduced triglycerides.
