Introduction

INTRODUCTION ABOUT BENZONIX GEL WASH[GBKEYWORD] contains Benzoyl peroxide which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-bacterial and Anti-inflammatory agents. It is used to manage mild acne on face visible as whiteheads and blackheads on face as well as acne vulgaris (pimples occurring in the hair follicles). It is also used to manage formation of new blemishes on skin and unclog the pores of skin. BENZONIX GEL WASH is not recommended for severe acne and/or on the skin having deeper pits and dents, broken and/or damaged skin and in people who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide and/or any other ingredient found in BENZONIX GEL WASH. It is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless necessary. Consult your doctor before using BENZONIX GEL WASH. It is recommended to use only those products, that are labelled as non-comedogenic to manage clogging of pores. Avoid applying BENZONIX GEL WASH around your eyes, including eyelids and other mucous membranes. How It Works

BENZONIX GEL WASH works against the acne-causing bacteria. This medicine after applying on the affected skin gets absorbed and is converted to benzoic acid. This benzoic acid gets metabolized by skin proteins and releases active free-radical oxygen species that results in the alteration of bacterial proteins. This helps to manage acne or pimples. BENZONIX GEL WASH also acts as a keratolytic agent which promotes peeling of the skin and absorb excess oil from the skin further managing acne formation and skin irritation.

Directions for Use

Always use BENZONIX GEL WASH as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your disease condition. Wet the area to be managed. Wash hands before use and place a small amount of BENZONIX GEL WASH on to the hands to wash the affected area. Wash and rinse thoroughly with water after application.

Drug Interactions

SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before using BENZONIX GEL WASH, inform your doctor if you are using or taking any of the following medicine: medicines used to manage acne (Ex. isotretinoin) medicines used to manage leprosy and other skin conditions (Ex. dapsone) medicines used to manage hyperpigmentation (dark spots, melasma) (Ex. hydroquinone) medicines used to cause anesthesia (Ex. lidocaine, bupivacaine) B. Drug-Food interactions: Before applying BENZONIX GEL WASH inform your doctor if you are having any allergies to any other medicines, foods, preservatives or dyes. Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally uses too much of BENZONIX GEL WASH or accidentally ingested it, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
