AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION is used in children to manage infections caused by bacteria and other microorganisms, which include chest, throat, and nasal infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat, and sinusitis). It is also used to manage ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin and soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected children, which is also indicated for use to manage sexually transmitted diseases (caused by organisms such as Chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the affected child.

AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to grow) that results in its destruction, thus managing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.

The most common side effects of administering AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION in children are stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, skin rash, and/or itching. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms become worse in the child.

If you forget to administer AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION, then administer the medicine as soon as you can. Have the child take the next dose at the right time. Do not double the dose to make up for a forgotten dose in the child.

If a child or anyone else accidentally takes too much of AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION, then consult and inform your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.

Administer AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION in the child as advised by your physician. For syrup: shake well before use. For dry syrup: shake the dry powder loose and reconstitute the dry powder in the required ml of water before consuming. Your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of management for your child depending on the child’s age, body weight, and disease condition.

AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it is used only in children.

Do not administer AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION if the child is allergic to azithromycin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin/clarithromycin (macrolides), ketolides, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.

AZIVENT 100MG SUSPENSION should be administered with caution in children with impaired renal function, impaired hepatic function, and heart problems, diabetes, myasthenia gravis, or intolerance to certain sugars. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.
