Introduction
ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET contains Clonidine which belongs to group of medicines called Antihypertensives. ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET is used to lower high blood pressure to manage hypertension in affected individuals. ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to clonidine. It is also not recommended for use in patients with rare hereditary condition of galactose intolerance, and/or heart diseases (such as heart failure, slow/irregular heart rate). Before taking ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have Raynaud’s phenomenon (condition marked by decreased blood flow to the fingers and toes), depression, constipation, altered sensation, diabetes, liver, and/or kidney problems. ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. It is also not recommended for use in breast-feeding women. ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 60 years/above) after consulting the doctor. How It Works
ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET works by relaxing the blood vessels which makes the heart to pump blood more efficiently around the body thus resulting in the lowered blood pressure and thereby managing hypertension in affected individuals.
Directions for Use
Take ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects

ALCOHOLAvoid consumption of alcohol while taking ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET as it may alter the effect of the medicine. KIDNEYARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking it. LIVERARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. ALLERGYDo not take ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET if you are allergic to Clonidine, and/or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Drug - Drug interactions: Before taking ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking, other medicines that make you drowsy Ex. brompheniramine, diphenhydramine non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (used to reduce fever & inflammation, and relieve pain) Ex. ibuprofen imipramine or mirtazapine (used to manage depression) antipsychotics (used for severe mental illness such as schizophrenia) Ex. chlorpromazine beta blockers (used to manage hypertension) Ex. atenolol water tablets – frusemide (diuretics) alpha blockers (used for prostate problems in men) Ex. prazosin or doxazosin vasodilators (medicines used to dilate or manage constriction of blood vessels to allow free blood flow to the organs) Ex. diazoxide or sodium nitroprusside calcium antagonists (used to manage hypertension) Ex. verapamil, diltiazem hydrochloride ACE inhibitors (used to manage hypertension) Ex. captopril, lisinopril digitalis glycoside (used to manage heart diseases) Ex. digoxin Over dosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of ARKAPRES 100MCG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
