Introduction

AMTAS AT 50MG TABLET is used to manage hypertension and angina pectoris (chest pain caused due to lack of oxygen supply to the heart). It can also be used to reduce the risk of heart attack (myocardial infarction) among heart patients. It contains a combination of Amlodipine and Atenolol which belongs to the group of medicine called Antihypertensive agents. Take AMTAS AT 50MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking AMTAS AT 50MG TABLET, as it could further decrease your blood pressure and may make you feel dizzier, drowsier or faint. AMTAS AT 50MG TABLET contains two medicines namely amlodipine and atenolol. Atenolol blocks the effects of certain hormones (adrenaline) in the body that naturally increases heart rate. It relaxes the blood vessels supplying the heart which improves blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart muscles. Collectively, they reduce the strain on the heart and improves heart functions.
