USES OF AMPIVAC 500 INJECTIONIt is used to manage various bacterial infections such as: Ear infections (Ex. otitis media) Nose or throat infections Respiratory tract infections (Ex. bronchitis and pneumonia) Urinary tract infections (Ex. cystitis and kidney infections) Genital tract infections (Ex. gonorrhoea) Stomach infections (Ex. peritonitis) Blood infections (Ex. sepsis) Skin or soft tissue infections (Ex. acne) Meningitis (inflammation of the protective layer surrounding the brain) Endocarditis (inflammation of the protective layer surrounding the heart) Typhoid fever HOW AMPIVAC 500 INJECTION WORKSAMPIVAC 500 INJECTION is a bactericidal agent. It kills the susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall synthesis that is essential for the bacterial cell to survive. This action destroys the susceptible bacteria, manage their further growth and multiplication and reduce the severity of the infection. DIRECTIONS FOR USEAMPIVAC 500 INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein (intravenously) or into the muscles (intramuscularly). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection. Do not miss a dose or stop receiving AMPIVAC 500 INJECTION without consulting your doctor as it may worsen your condition. SIDE EFFECTS OF AMPIVAC 500 INJECTIONCOMMON diarrhoea nausea, vomiting RAREStop receiving AMPIVAC 500 INJECTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects: signs of severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing) stomach pain with uncontrollable watery diarrhoea, feeling weak and fever severe skin reactions (such as widespread skin rash with blistering and peeling of skin around the mouth, face and genitals) signs of liver problems (such as yellowing of skin and whites of the eye, pale faeces, dark urine, persistent nausea, loss of appetite, unusual tiredness) unusual bleeding or bruising fever, sore throat, mouth ulcers, repeated infections signs of kidney problems (such as passing low urine, passing urine at night, tiredness, breathlessness, pale skin, fever, skin rash, nausea, pains)
