Introduction

ALOJA 12.5MG TABLET contains Alogliptin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetics. It is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults along with diet and exercise. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic medical condition in which the body does not make enough insulin or produced insulin does not work well. When this happens, glucose level rises in the blood and can lead to serious medical problems like heart or kidney disease and blindness. Symptoms include excessive urination, excessive thirst, hunger, fatigue, and blurred vision. ALOJA 12.5MG TABLET is used when the blood sugar levels cannot be adequately controlled by diet, exercise and other oral anti-diabetic medicines. It must be taken together with other anti-diabetic medicines prescribed by your doctor such as glipizide, tolbutamide, glibenclamide, metformin, pioglitazone and insulin. ALOJA 12.5MG TABLET works by increasing the amount of insulin produced by the body which effectively controls your blood sugar. Also, it reduces the amount of substance called glucagon which is produced by the pancreas (glucagon causes liver to produce more sugar) resulting in reduced levels of sugar in your blood.

Take ALOJA 12.5MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
