ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET belongs to cholinesterase inhibitor which works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking. Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occurs due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain.
Directions for Use
Take ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET with a glass of water and do not chew or crush the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects

DRIVING AND USING MACHINESALMERZIL 5MG TABLET may cause tiredness, dizziness and muscle cramp which could affect your ability to drive or operate machines. If you experience these side effects, do not drive or operate machines. Consult your doctor before taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET. ALCOHOLAvoid consumption of alcohol while taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET because it may alter the effect of this medicine. KIDNEYALMERZIL 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET. LIVERALMERZIL 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. It should be used with caution in patients with liver problems or hepatitis. Consult your doctor before taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET. ALLERGYDo not take ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET if you are allergic to Donepezil or piperidine derivatives such as haloperidol, thioridazine, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. LUNGSALMERZIL 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with asthma or long-term lung disease. Consult your doctor before taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET. HEART DISEASEALMERZIL 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases such as irregular or very slow heartbeat, fast heartbeat, abnormal heart rhythms, family history of prolonged QT interval (fast and chaotic heartbeats), had heart failure, or heart attack. Consult your doctor before taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET. OTHERSBefore taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you: have low levels of magnesium or potassium in your blood have difficulty passing urine have stomach or duodenal ulcers have seizures (fits) or convulsions Use in pediatrics: The safety and effectiveness of ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET in pediatric patients have not been established. Consult your doctor before taking ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET. Use in geriatrics: ALMERZIL 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years above).
