Introduction
ALFUGRESS 10MG TABLET contains Alfuzosin which belongs to the group of medicines called Alpha-1-blockers. It is used to provide relief from moderate to severe symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia in affected individuals. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a non-cancerous condition that increases the size of the prostate and it is generally characterized by symptoms such as increased urinary frequency, unusual urine color/smell, urinary urgency, weak/interrupted urine stream, and pain after urination/ejaculation. ALFUGRESS 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to alfuzosin or equivalent substances (such as terazosin and doxazosin). It is also not recommended for use in patients with orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure while standing up from a sitting or lying position), liver problems and should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems (such as mild, moderate and severe kidney problems). ALFUGRESS 10MG TABLET works by binding and inhibiting a receptor (alpha 1-adrenergic receptor) in the lower urinary tract, which results in the relaxation of muscles around the bladder, thus facilitating urine to flow more easily and thereby providing relief from symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Directions for Use
