Introduction

ALFUFAST TABLET contains Alfuzosin which belongs to the group of medicines called Alpha-1-blockers. It is used to provide relief from moderate to severe symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia in affected individuals. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a non-cancerous condition that increases the size of the prostate and it is generally characterized by symptoms such as increased urinary frequency, unusual urine color/smell, urinary urgency, weak/interrupted urine stream, and pain after urination/ejaculation. ALFUFAST TABLET is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to alfuzosin or equivalent substances (such as terazosin and doxazosin). It is also not recommended for use in patients with orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure while standing up from a sitting or lying position), liver problems and should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems (such as mild, moderate and severe kidney problems). ALFUFAST TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women as it is used only in men. ALFUFAST TABLET works by binding and inhibiting a receptor (alpha 1-adrenergic receptor) in the lower urinary tract, which results in the relaxation of muscles around the bladder, thus facilitating urine to flow more easily and thereby providing relief from symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Directions for Use

Take ALFUFAST TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
