Introduction

INTRODUCTION ABOUT ABSENZ SYRUPABSENZ SYRUP contains Ethosuximide which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-epileptics. It is used in the management of epilepsy. It controls brief, sudden loss of consciousness (absence seizures or petit mal seizures) and uncontrolled jerking movements (myoclonic seizure). Epilepsy is a condition of central nervous system in which the brain activity becomes abnormal causing seizures (fits), episodes of unusual behaviour, sensations and loss of awareness. Prior to the management with ABSENZ SYRUP your doctor might ask you to take several diagnostic tests to better assess your condition. Before taking ABSENZ SYRUP inform your doctor if you have porphyria (metabolism disorder), liver or kidney disease. ABSENZ SYRUP should be taken with doctor’s consultation in pregnant women. Drug Interactions

SA. Drug - Drug Interactions: Before taking ABSENZ SYRUP inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: medicine used for certain types of infections (Ex. isoniazid) medicines used for epilepsy (Ex. phenytoin, carbamazepine, sodium valproate and valproic acid) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of ABSENZ SYRUP, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are extreme drowsiness and confusion.
